Eating My Way Through San Francisco

I have been in San Franciso, California all week and have been having a blast eating my way through the city. Today, I visited the Ferry Building for lunch and came upon a fabulous seafood shop called San Francisco Seafood Company.

The menu options were tasty. I was tempted to try the crab enchiladas (San Francisco is known for its crab) but they were drenched in a roasted chili sauce and I wasn’t in the mood for heat. I decided to take the manager’s recommendation so I started with a couple of local oysters on the half shell and Long Island clams.

I was warned in advance that fresh clams are an aquired taste, but I have had them before and thought they tasted perfect – great texture with a yummy, salty brine. For the main event I had a soy glazed ahi sandwich, which was also quite good.
